Manifesto

I am who I am.

I don’t know who I will be.

But today I am the sum of my experiences;

The ones that broke me and crumbled me to ash,

And those that made me get back up.

The ones I chose to let go,

And the ones that I still hold on to.

I am who I am.

I don’t know who I will be.

I am what I was taught;

Rules that became ideologies.

Ideologies that became truth.

I am the early morning pujas, and the late night prayers.

I am the dinners spent around the dining table with my loved ones.

And the ones spent alone while at work.

I am colour and the crackers at weddings, at festivals.

But also the quiet & lonely bedrooms on gloomy afternoons.

I am who I am.

I don’t know who I will be.

I am everything I was taught.

Everything I learned.

The sum of my choices,

my successes,

my mistakes,

my regrets.

I am the world I was shown, the world I was stumbled upon.

 Since 1988 to now is what made me and my world around.

I am who I am.

But I don’t know who I will be.
